Chapter News

The Taliaferro and Ripley-Lieutenant Byrd Chapters were honored to be asked to participate in the laying of the wreath at the Vietnam Traveling wall this past weekend in Georgetown. Pictured are Jessie Little of the Taliaferro Chapter, Ian Cunningham of the local SAR chapter, Dee Watters of the Ripley-Lieutenant Byrd Chapter and a member of the color guard from the American Legion.

Each meeting provides a time for entertainment and education.  We were certainly given both when the Liberty Cornet Band came rolling in.  They have been an active band for over 100 years and treated us to songs such as "Yankee Doodle", "America the Beautiful", "Beautiful Ohio", and "God Bless America".  The Liberty Cornet Band was truly enjoyable.

These beautiful DAR suncatchers are made at the local landfill recycling center.  Aquamarine is the current color the re-factory has issued but we may soon be getting them in cobalt blue, amber or green. The suncatchers  are unique, innovative, and sparkly...just like our members!  Contact Sue McKinley to order your suncatcher.
